Audi RS 5 could get Lambo’s 500hp V10
The Audi S5’s 4.2 liter V8 engine that produces 354 horsepower is more than adequate to lead the coupe segment with BMW’s 335i coupe and Infiniti’s G37 following behind. But what does Audi have planned to rival the new 2008 BMW M3 coupe? Most would jump to the conclusion that the next Audi RS 4 with a rumored 450 horsepower engine would be the perfect competitor. However, the RS 4 is a sedan and will be a great competitor for the M3 Sedan rather than the M3 Coupe. (Read the full post about ‘Audi RS 5 could get Lambo’s 500hp V10′…)

Audi wants first crack at used R8s
When demand exceeds supply for a hot model, eBay can be the only way to get your hands on one. Audi is trying to keep those limited-edition numbers out of the hands of those who only want to pad their pockets from the highest bidder. Audi’s interest? Its limited-edition R8 that goes on sale this fall with a 420-horsepower V-8 and a $110,000 price tag. In an attempt to keep tabs on what promises to be a hot little number, Audi spokesman Jeff Kuhlman said customers will be asked to sign a paper giving the dealer first right to buy the R8 back when the buyer’s done with it. Audi to Launch The Cleanest Diesel In The World
From mid-2008 Audi will be putting the cleanest diesel technology in the world into series production. The new TDI engines with their ultra-low emission system combine the spontaneous performance and superior pulling power of today’s TDI power units with outstanding fuel consumption figures and incomparably low emissions. Indeed, they will already undercut the most stringent emissions limits that are to be applied in the future in Europe as soon as production starts. An Audi A8 That Can Imitate a Lotus?
Drivers bored with the way their motor handles will one day be able to change it - and all at the touch of a button. Scientists at the German firm have created the ultimate real-life car simulator, and while the gadgetry behind it is some way off production, it gives a taste of what motoring might be like in the future. Preview: 2009 Audi RS-R8
We’ve seen the prototypes testing at the Nurburgring and read about the Lambo-sourced V10 engine. Now, we finally get a glimpse of what the final production version of the RS-prepped Audi R8 should look like. The current V8 model is already impressive enough to compete with Porsche’s best and can even give its Gallardo cousin a run for its money, but with a V10 powerplant on board developing around 500hp, the new RS version of the R8 will be in another league altogether.
