High gas prices spur demand for camels in India

Elevated gas prices resonate in outlandish ways. Sure, while the medium commuter might now consider alternatives like common transit or carpooling to ease the sting at the pump, the repercussions of lofty combustibles costs are felt globally — and not just on the medium cubicle-dwelling workerbee. Take India, for copy. Financial Times reports that in the situation of Rajasthan, farmers are looking to the camel like a replacement for combustibles-swilling tractors. like a proceed, demand for the animals is up, like is their expense. stifle, a vigorous, work-ready camel costs just a region of what Indian farmers would want to bomb out for an entry-level tractor, and the critters don’t want to exist constantly refilled with expensive petrifaction fuels. FT notes that a full-scale camel revival faces other challenges, but this rediscovery of the creature like a good worker could exist the wince of something.
